The Firm
McMillans Solicitors are a well-established criminal defence firm dealing exclusively in serious sexual allegations and indecent images cases. We only represent clients privately and do not do legally aided work. The vast majority of our cases end up at the Crown Court. Although based in Epping, Essex we represent clients nationwide.
The Role
We are looking for Criminal Solicitor or experienced Paralegal to assist in the preparation of Crown Court cases and to attend the police station for pre-arranged interviews and bail to returns. As we do not do legally aided duty solicitor work there is no requirement to be ‘on call’ and the firm’s police stations attendances are generally arranged at a mutually convenient time for our clients and ourselves.
The Candidate
Those applying must be experienced in criminal defence work and be police station accredited. You will ideally be highly computer literate (many of our cases involve fairly complex evidence by prosecution computer experts). You will need to possess a full driving licence and be prepared to travel nationwide to attend police stations, meet witnesses etc. You must have excellent communication, organisational and client care skills and an understanding of the particular requirements of representing private clients.
Salary
